2. Assembly and Installation
2.1 Unpacking
For the system unpacking, it is recommended to remove the lid of the box for a better handling of the device. It is also necessary to remove all plastics that prevent the octagonal rings from moving (this protection is necessary for shipping).
- The package must contain the following parts:
- The FFT GYRO system (fully assembled)
- Two aluminum profiles for the base (Leg support)
- A 12 V power supply
- A mini-USB-to-USB cable
- A set of three servomotors with their connection cables (if purchased separately)
2.2 Assembling Instructions
To assemble the FFT Gyro system, follow the instructions given below.
2.2.1 Install Leg Supports
- Place the FFT Gyro on a secure table.
- Fix the leg support at its place. Once fixed, secure the leg support using 5mm Allen's Key.
- Repeat the same for the second leg support.
- Refer to the image below for details.
2.2.2 Unlock Gimbals
- Once the leg supports are installed, place the system so that it rests on the support legs.
- Now, safely unlock the gimbals by removing the locking mechanism.
- Note that FFT Gyro has a total of 8 locking mechanism installed.
- Refer to the image below for details.
2.2.3 Verify Gimbal Mobility
- Once the gimbals are unlocked, evaluate the mobility of the three degrees of freedom (DoF) by following the steps below.
Important
- Before proceeding, ensure that all power sources are disconnected.
- Manually move each gimbal and check if rotation of G1, G2 and G3 is smooth and free from any obstruction.
- Each gimbal must rotate smoothly in both ways and should not have any physical obstruction that prevents free rotation (test multi-roll movements in both directions).

2.3 General Considerations
- It is recommended to install the FFT GYRO system on a space with good ventilation.
- It is also recommended to place it on a table with stability and free space on all four sides, so that air can flow easily.
Voltage and Surge Protection
- It is necessary to place a voltage regulation and overload protection device to protect the electronic system of the FFT GYRO.
- When using the system with a multi-rotor motors, keep all external objects at a safe distance. Introducing any object near the system may result in severe damage to people, equipment or surrounding.
